About Service Accent Service Pack 2
Service Accent uses Crystal Reports from Business Objects SA to provide its reporting abilities and consequently, Service Accent ships with the Crystal Reports run-time components necessary to run reports. Prior to Service Accent Service Pack 2, the run-time components that were installed were from Crystal Reports version 7.

In order to provide additional reporting functionality, Service Accent has been updated to utilise the Crystal Reports 10 run-time components. This also allows full compatibility with the latest version of Crystal Reports.

The run-time components of Crystal Reports version 10 are installed separately from any existing Crystal Reports components. Any existing installation of Crystal Reports 9 or earlier will be preserved and can continue to be used independently of this Service Pack.

If you have Crystal Reports 8.5 or earlier, you will not be able to open any Service Accent reports supplied by your support provider (which will be in version 9/10 format). You will still be able to write and deploy your own reports for use with Service Accent as the Crystal Reports 10 run-time components are able to read reports in earlier formats.

If you currently have an earlier version of Crystal Reports, it is recommended (but not obligatory) to purchase an upgrade to Crystal Reports 10 Professional to take full advantage of the additional functionality available.


From time to time, this Service Pack is revised to include the latest Crystal Reports 10 components as they are made available by Business Objects SA. The Service Pack will remain at version 2 but will be given a suffix of "a", "b" and so on to indicate the revision. Each revision of the Service Pack supersedes previous revisions.

Crystal Reports 10 and its run-time components will not run under Windows 98 or ealier. Therefore, if you plan to migrate to Service Accent release 3.0 build 183 or later, you must upgrade your version of Windows to a supported version.


Crystal Reports 10 will not run under Windows NT 4.0. However, the Crystal Reports 10 run-time components will operate under Windows NT 4.0 as long as your computer has Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 and Internet Explorer 6 or later installed. The Service Accent Service Pack 2 setup contains links to enable you to install these.
