About "How to update your own reports to the latest version of Service Accent"
SUMMARY

This step-by-step article shows you how to update your reports after you have installed a later version of Service Accent that includes changes to the structure of your database.

OVERVIEW
When a report is written for Service Accent, the report designer, Crystal Reports, stores the structure of the database in the report itself. From time to time, the structure of the database is changed in Service Accent to accomodate enhanced functionality; as a consequence, any report that utilises the old structure will not run against the new structure. Typically, you will receive database errors because the report is not obtaining data in the format it expects.

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR REPORTS
Using Crystal Reports, perform the following on each report in turn:

  1. Open the report
  2. Click on Database, then Verify Database
  3. If you are asked Verify files in the report that are not used, click No
  4. If you are prompted The [xxx] table has changed, where [xxx] represents a table in the report, click Yes or OK (the question varies depending on the version of Crystal Reports you are running)
  5. If you are asked Verify sub-reports click Yes
  6. Once you get the prompt Database is up to date, the report has been updated
  7. Click File, Save as, and save the report in version 7 format
