Error "Path/file access error" under Windows Vista

Symptom
If you map a network share to a drive letter (e.g., F:\AccentDB) and start Service Accent, you receive the following error:

Path/file access error

Cause
This appears to be a security issue with Windows Vista that blocks access to a shared network resource via a drive letter. Windows Vista detects that the Service Accent application requires elevated security privileges (which it doesn't) and blocks certain functionality to Service Accent. This is being investigated and the Service Accent 4.8.200 update should fix this.

Solution
Remap your database location using the \\Server\Sharename\AccentDB (UNC) format. For example, using Windows Explorer, select Network, your server, your share, AccentDB and run dbrouter.exe. This will set Service Accent to the database in \\Server\Share\AccentDB.
