Symptom
By using the Pervasive.SQL Monitor, you can monitor your active database connections and users. If you try to connect to your server via Terminal Services/Remote Desktop to run the Monitor, however, you may receive an Insufficient permissions error.

Cause
Pervasive.SQL Monitor is very sensitive to how it is run and will often not run in a Terminal Services/Remote Desktop session.

Solution
If you are running Windows Server 2003, you can connect in console mode as follows:

  1. Click Start | Run
  2. Type mstsc /console and click OK
  3. Log in as normal

You can also start the Pervasive.SQL Monitor on a workstation and click Options | Connect..., then enter the server name you are trying to connect to, your network user name and password, then click OK.
