Unable to use Service Accent Online Meter Billing with Microsoft ISA Server

Symptom
Service Accent uses the HTTP protocol to communicate with the Online Meter Billing server. If you run Microsoft ISA Server as a web proxy, you must configure Service Accent to use it.

After having configured Service Accent, you may get authentication issues.

Cause
Authentication failure is most if you require all users to authenticate and use Kerberos as your authentication method. Service Accent is not Kerberos compliant and will be unable to authenticate with a Kerberos-enabled ISA Server.

Solution
Use another authentication protocol other than Kerberos. The Microsoft Help for ISA Server (2006) states:

To configure authentication method for Web Proxy clients (outgoing requests)
  1. In the console tree of ISA Server Management, click Networks.
  2. In the details pane, select the Networks tab, and then select the applicable network.
  3. On the Tasks tab, click Edit Selected Network.

  4. On the Web Proxy tab, click Authentication.

  5. In Method, select the applicable authentication method.
