Article ID: 100513143335 - Last Review: 13 May 2010 by jasonl - Revision: 1 - Views: 4518

Symptom
If you try and configure an ODBC connection via Remote Desktop, you may receive an error warning you that you have insufficient permissions.

Cause
Under Remote Desktop, Pervasive.SQL and its associated applications assume restricted permissions. This means that installation and configuration of Pervasive.SQL and associated applications (including ODBC) under Remote Desktop may not be possible.

Solution
You can force Pervasive.SQL to assume correct permissions under Remote Desktop by modifying the following key using regedit.exe:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Pervasive Software\Utilities Interface\Settings\Restricted Access on WTS Client

And chaging the default value of 1 to 0
